Planet Venus - The Morning Star

Venus is often identified with beauty. Venus is also manifested as a picture of the nature of women, which is reflected in the phrase “…because men are from mars and women are from venus”.

But is there a connection between these expressions with the physical form of the Planet Venus? Let's try to explore the correlation between the physical form of the Planet Venus and the depiction of Venus as a common female trait.

Planet Venus - The Morning Star

Venus is the second planet closest to the Sun. In the order of the solar system, the position of the Planet Venus is right after the planet Mercury.

The planet Venus is almost the same size as the Planet Earth we live in. It is also the closest to the earth, so it can be seen with the eye without the help of binoculars.

The planet Venus has a radius of 6,052 kilometers, with a diameter of 108.2 million kilometers. The planet Venus has a unique rotation pattern and is different from other planets in the solar system.

If the other planets rotate in a counterclockwise direction, the direction of rotation of the Planet Venus is clockwise. This is what distinguishes Planet Venus from the direction of rotation of the other planets.

The time it takes for Planet Venus to rotate once takes longer than the time it takes to revolve around the sun, which is 249 days. While the time required for Planet Venus to circle the sun once is 224.7 days.

The planet Venus is also known as the morning star, because it looks beautiful when seen from a distance.

The planet Venus is usually visible in the east just before sunrise. This is where the morning star or morning star is called.

Sometimes the Planet Venus also appears in the west before sunset, so Venus is also dubbed the evening star, western star, or the morning star.

Criteria for Planet Venus

However, the beauty of Planet Venus from a distance seems to be false. Because in reality, the atmosphere of Planet Venus contains 97% carbon dioxide (CO2) and 3% nitrogen.

The planet Venus has a very high surface temperature, which is 480°C. These conditions of course make the possibility of life there is small.

High temperatures also do not allow the presence of water in liquid form. While on the outside, Planet Venus is often covered by dense clouds.

Scientists believe that on the surface of the Planet Venus there has been rapid global warming, as is the catastrophe that is threatening the planet Earth.

Global warming that occurs on the surface of the Planet Venus, is referred to as the greatest global warming phenomenon that has never occurred on the surface of other planets.

In July 2008, an expedition with the Venusian probe mission called Venus Express managed to find a hydroxyl molecule at an altitude of 100 kilometers above the surface of Venus' atmosphere.

The molecule, which is composed of hydrogen and oxygen atoms, is recognized as a puzzling finding, because it is highly reactive. Carbon dioxide is prevented from turning into carbon monoxide by this molecule, thereby helping to reduce pollutants from the atmosphere.

This Venus Express expedition also managed to record how much ozone is in the atmosphere of Planet Venus, and it was found that the amount is unstable, which contains Hydroxyl which can reach 50%.

Curious about who first discovered the Planet Venus? The planet Venus the morning star was first discovered by a genius scientist from Russia named Mikhail Lomonosov. Mikhail first discovered the atmosphere of the Planet Venus in 1761.

Continuing these discoveries, in 1970, Johann Schroter made more in-depth observations of the planet which has characteristics similar to that of Earth.

The planet Venus is said to be the planet most similar to Earth. Chester Smith Lyman was the first to know that the planet Venus has a ring around its dark side.

The planet Venus contains silicon rock on its surface, just as it does on Earth's surface. The core of the Planet Venus is also believed to be similar to the core of the Earth we live in.

Prior to the Venus Express mission, there were actually many rover missions that came to Planet Venus. There have been more than 20 visits by spacecraft attempting to land on the surface of Venus.

Expedition to the Planet Venus

Planet Venus - The Morning Star

The first expedition to the planet Venus was Venera Russia 1. However, the spacecraft failed to land after losing contact with Earth on the seventh day of its expedition.

Then it was recorded that there was an expedition by the American spacecraft Mariner 2 in 1962 which succeeded in approaching the atmosphere of the Planet Venus.

In 1982, it was recorded that an expedition from the Soviet Union's spacecraft, Venera 13 and Venera 14, was 'determined' to land on the surface of Venus. The plane, dubbed Venera 13, also managed to capture the beautiful Venus which became a phenomenal photo because it was the only authentic photo of the Planet Venus ever recorded.

From the photos, it can be seen that the Planet Venus has a smoldering surface and very large air pressure. The ever-smoldering planet Venus causes the Venera 13 spacecraft to only last about two hours. While Venera 14 was only able to last no more than an hour.

The Planet Venus in Mythology

Besides being recognized as a planet, the Planet Venus is also recognized in a Roman mythology. Venus is one of the most famous mythologies in Roman civilization. Venus is depicted as a goddess as a manifestation of love and beauty, much like Aphrodite in Greek mythology.

The goddess Venus is depicted as a composite of the perfect image of goddesses in Roman and Greek mythology. While in the Maya civilization, Venus is described as the Goddess Kukulcan and Goddess Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli in the Aztec civilization. The beauty of these goddesses is associated with the beauty possessed by the Planet Venus.

The name Venus is somewhat similar to the Sanskrit vanas which means love, passion. This then raises the hypothesis that the concept of Venus comes from the influence of Proto-Indo-European.

The goddess Venus is also known in Ancient Hindu astrology as Sukra as the goddess of love and femininity. The beauty of the Planet Venus is also what describes the grace of the goddesses.

The worship of Venus originated from Ardea and Lavinium, Latium. On August 18, 293 BC, the oldest shrine was built for the goddess Venus. The Vinalia Rustica celebration is also set to fall on this date.

Another shrine to Venus was rebuilt in 215 BC. This temple is also a memorial to the Roman defeat in the war on Lake Trasimene. Stories about this community can also be inspired by the beauty of the Planet Venus.

The Planet Venus and Artworks

The Beauty of Venus makes it the most popular object to be immortalized in Renaissance painting. Society tolerates the depiction of the naked goddess Venus, as a tribute to the natural beauty of the goddess of beauty. The planet Venus is believed to be beautiful like a goddess.

The goddess Venus is also known to be sensual and many describe her as a beautiful naked woman. She was believed to be the goddess of s*xual medicine, so her nudity was not considered taboo and inspired many artists of the era. Even until now the sexy nature of a woman will be identified with the Goddess Venus or Planet Venus.

These paintings depict the beauty of the Goddess Venus as well as the Planet Venus.
