Cats are one of my favorite pets. Many people keep cats because cats are basically tame and cute animals that are also easy to care for. There are many types of cats that people usually keep, ranging from local breeds to superior breeds from abroad. Here are the types of pet cats that come from various parts of the world.
Types of Cats
1. Abyssinian
Allegedly originated from Ethiopia and Egypt. Physically similar to the puma, but much smaller. Usually brown or gray (Silver Abyssinian).
2. American Bobtail
As the name implies, this cat comes from America. This cat's tail is on average only a third of the length of a typical cat's tail and the tip is like a coil.
3. American Curl
Originally from California. Typical ear shape, which is circular or bent outward. However, when born the shape of the ears is normal, straight up like other cats.
4. American Domestic
One of the cats from America who is believed to be born as a domestic cat and has been the pet of many people for a long time.
5. American Shorthair
This cat is very adaptable to the environment. He can make friends with many other types of pets, even dogs. His soft voice is very liked by children.
6. American Wirehair
Like the previous cat breeds, this cat is like being born to be a family friend. This cat has the advantage of being able to recognize a person's mood.
7. Balinese
Unlike its name, this cat is not from Bali. This cat is the result of the Siamese cat breed. The body is slender and long. The difference with the original Siamese cat is the coat color is not too much.
8. Bengal
This cat is by nature very active, so it is often mistaken for too wild to be kept. In fact, this cat is easy to train.
9. Birman
One type of cat that is easy to maintain, easy to train, and has a high curiosity for new things he knows. This cat is dubbed the sacred cat of Burma.
10. Bombay
This cat is physically very similar to a panther, with yellowish brown eyes. As the name implies, this cat comes from Bombay, India.
11. British Shorthair
This cat is fat, stocky, round head with thick whiskers pads, round eyes and quite large. The color of the fur is mostly dark gray. The size of his body that tends to be large makes him often dubbed the "bulldog" of cats.
12. Burmese
Cat Burmese consists of two types, namely the American Burmese bred in America and the European Burmese bred in England. This cat is from Burma, but not from the Birman cat breed. This cat has short fur, but its lifespan is longer than the average cat's lifespan, which can reach 18 years.
13. Burmilla
From its physical appearance, this cat is very similar to the Burmese cat. Only, his fur is silvery gray. This coat color is obtained from the Persian Chinchilla cat breed. Yes, this cat is the result of a cross between a female Burmese cat and a male Chinchilla Persian cat which is indeed silvery gray in color.
14. California Spangled
This cat is very much like a leopard or leopard. Only much smaller, about the size of a cat as usual. Its long and slender body shape makes it very agile when hunting.
15. Chantilly (or Tiffany)
This cat from North America is the result of a cross between a Burmese cat and a Long Haired Asians. Unlike other types of pet cats, this cat is slow in reaching maturity. Usually, cats have matured before the age of one year. But this Chantilly or Tiffany cat only becomes an adult after he reaches two years of age.
16. Chartreux
This cat is very good at hunting mice and very good at swimming. Although his physical appearance is not proportional because his legs are very slender, while his body is large and stocky. Chartreux cats prefer to move rather than make noises.
17. Colorpoint Shorthair
A cat who is very caring and sensitive to changes in the mood of the people around him. If his master is sad, then he will try to comfort him. This cat is the closest cousin of the Siamese cat. The difference is that this cat has 16 color points, while the Siamese cat has only 4 color points.
18. Cornish Rex
This cat's physical form is like a combination of Bastet (Ancient Egyptian goddess of war) and aliens! The head is ovoid, the ears are wide, and the legs are long. The fur is soft and looks like curls.
19. Coupari
This cat's fur is long, thick, and soft in a variety of color patterns. Its ears are folded (after 3 months of age), its nose is short, its cheeks are full, and its eyes are large and round, so it is often thought of as an owl. Coupari cats have other names, such as the Highland Fold or Longhair Fold. Actually, this cat belongs to the Scottish Fold type, it's just that the fur is longer.
20. Cymric cat
Comes from the Isle of Man, England. The fur is soft and shiny. This cat's tail tends to be short, often the tail is just a lump. Cymric cats with long tails are rare. Unlike most types of pet cats, this cat likes water, can be friendly with other pets, especially dogs. In addition, he can also be trained to perform various tricks.
21. Devon Rex
Has a thin face and relatively short fur, but does not fall out easily. Its independent nature and does not tend to be quiet when the house is empty is very suitable for families who are busy outside the home.
When family members are at home, this cat will be very spoiled. The Devon Rex cat was once associated with the Cornish Rex cat breed. But upon further investigation, it turned out that the two did not have any kind of attachment.
22. Egyptian Mau
This cat does not like strangers. Its uniqueness is that this cat has an affinity with Ancient Egypt. The body is long and looks elegant, has shiny, and smooth fur with a dominant gray color. On his forehead there is a mark that resembles the letter M and there is a long black line on his cheek.
While his eyes are shaped like almonds with a green color similar to a gooseberry. In the days of Ancient Egypt, these cats were trained as hunters or helped their masters to take small animals they hunted.
23. Exotic Shorthair
This cat's agility makes it reliable for hunting mice. In general, his physical form resembles a Persian cat. However, the fur is much shorter because this cat is the result of genetic engineering from Persian cats. It is meant for people who want to own a cat with Persian cat traits, but don't want to be bothered with maintaining their long coat.
24. German Rex
Has a resemblance to the Cornish Rex cat, both physically and in character. Only, his body was heavier. The head is round with large ears and cheekbones are also large. His eyes are quite large and have a color that matches the color of his fur.
