The momentum for recycling is picking up. As we as a society think about recycling more and more, we should make sure we do not just do it half way. If you recycle your aluminum cans, your plastic bottles and your newspapers, that is a good start. But it is just a start.

1. Cardboard containers

Many times you can put old cardboard in with your newspaper recycling. For bigger cardboard boxes, try tearing them down so they are flat and putting them up in the attic. There will come a time when a friend or relative that you know will need them and you can help out.

2. Cell phones

3. Mattresses

They are a nuisance to get rid of. But so many people in your own community could put them to good use because for warmth or comfort. Try taking them to a thrift store or a charity that distributes such things to people in need.
