Fantastic Computer Chips
When you come to know that after a number of experiments IBM developed entirely a new kind of computer chips which will feel, think and react like a human brain, you will be surprised. This chip will be used in cognitive computers.
The newly developed computer chip which is named “neurosynaptic computer chip” will duplicate the functions and activities of the brain, which will affect movements, activities, actions and cognition.
They will function on a double track, that they will learn and as well as improve themselves through experiments. Do not think that they are simple and may not do anything by themselves, they will be able to give performance other than those programs fed into them. They are like babies who learn, adopt and grow rapidly.
The scientists who are experimenting in IBM center have completed the 1st phase of this project that has heavy implications in defense. A US government agency is providing funds for this project which is of military nature.
Air Ships As Big As Cricket Ground
It will be interesting to learn that the US army has funded to build huge airships which will be as big and spread as a cricket ground.
These air ships will be used in war trouble areas. These will be designed in this pattern that they will be lighter than the usual planes, because they have not fixed wings. These air ships will consist of special propellers. The airships may be lifted in the air by a lighter gas.
Amazing Tank
A new kind of material has been developed which is named “Metamaterials”. This material can bend light around them, which causes objects made of this material to disappear from other eyes.
It is a big advantage that a tank or any armored vehicle may camouflage itself from the surroundings. The invisibility gives protection against the enemy. The amazing tank will mix itself with the surroundings.
The researchers are using a high technology which covers the tank with a hexagonal sheet of material. These hexagons function as pixels which change the temperature and also display infrared images which are produced by a camera which is installed outside.
The camera records the landscape of the surrounding area, and displays it on the hexagonal sheets of strong material to protect against invaders. In this way the tank seems to be a tree or a plant!
Interesting thing is that a computer is also installed on the outer surface of the tank and it has a large number of images and the required time it projects the relevant images on the sheets, like rocks, herds of animals etc. The researchers are trying to use this technology on aircrafts, helicopters and ships.
Floating City
You have seen in a few movies the underwater world, in which people live under the sea. Now in the real world, a Dutch company is designing a floating city, consisting of a large number of houses.
The foundation of the house will be built on the layers of light plastic foam, which will support the concrete and make it float on the surface of water.
